Wedding Officiant

My name is Emily Herrick, and I am a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant.™ I started on my path to being a wedding officiant a long time ago, although I didn’t quite realize it.

For decades, I’ve loved reading the wedding section of The New York Times and have been reading the featured wedding out loud to my husband every Sunday for years. I’ve always been curious to hear stories of how couples met and knew they were right for each other.

As a former children’s librarian, professional organizer, and yoga teacher, I find that wedding officiating is a natural fit in my life. I weave a story, rituals, and essential elements together, allowing me to forge a personalized wedding ceremony that is tailored specifically to you and your partner.

Since my first wedding in 2017, each ceremony at which I’ve officiated has been completely unique to the couple. I specialize in creating a sacred space for a beautiful union. And I love working with all types of couples, graciously officiating both gay and straight weddings.
